On May 3, 2026, the Coetzee family faced an unimaginable tragedy—losing their beloved son, Lucien. At just 14 years old, Lucien was a remarkable young boy whose loving nature, wisdom beyond his years, and gentle spirit left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him. Lucien was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, a city he loved and where he made many lifelong friends. Lucien’s kindness and compassion knew no bounds—always eager to help others, listen patiently, and bring comfort to those around him. A funeral service to celebrate Lucien’s life will be held on May 14 at 10:00 a.m. at Fish Creek Chapel at McInnis & Holloway. A reception will follow to honor his memory and allow friends and family to gather in love and support during this difficult time. The Coetzee family invites all who knew Lucien to join them in remembering the extraordinary young boy who was dearly loved and profoundly missed.
